Driving Directions:
Drive off the BC ferry from Powell River/Comox.
Follow Blubber Bay Road for 8.7 km,
turn RIGHT on Gillies Bay Road
Continue 23.8 km then
turn LEFT on Shelter Point Road.
At 24.1 km turn RIGHT onto Mouat Bay Road
Follow the gravel road to 25.4 km then
turn LEFT onto Texada Forest Service Road.
Stay LEFT at 34.7 km,
turn RIGHT at 35 km and at 37.3 km turn RIGHT onto
the 500 metre access road leading into the Shingle Beach Recreation Site.
NOTE: Odometer reading may vary from one vehicle to another.

Welcome to Shingle Beach Recreation and rustic Camping experience, here you will find numerous camping sites from protected bluff settings offering famous West Coast Sunsets, to Ocean View Sun Rise locations looking out over the water!!! Shingle Beach has camping available along the beach as well as 2 Large Structures(Group site 1 and 2), for family gatherings, weddings, or other events available for rent.
We have miles of beach front, and a huge campsite to explore as well as our
sister site at Bob's Lake.
We are animal friendly, however all animals must remain on leash and that owners pick up after their animals. Refusing to follow rules may have you kicked out without refund.
This is a wilderness Campsite, there are outhouses, although there is no drinking water, electricity or wifi here, we do not have the facility for garbage or recycling.
YOU MUST PACK OUT WHAT YOU PACK IN!!!
There is no sanitation dumping station on site.
Shingle Beach currently has 22 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, 60% of the site can be reserved any given day, the remainder of the sites are open for people coming in, please see the posted reservations on the Sites so that you may find a site to stay at that is not reserved. There is a one time non-refundable reservation-fee of $15.00 for Single Sites, a $30.00 fee for Double Sites and a $75.00 fee for Group Sites. From a minimum of 2 nights to a maximum of 14 nights, 2 night minimums on weekends, 3 night minimums on long weekends, regardless of the length of your stay, the reservation-fee is all that is collected initially, the remainder will be required in full, in Canadian dollars paid to the Host on the day you arrive.
A Site Operator or Host will be around in the evening to complete check-ins, collect monies, answer any of your questions, and sell firewood during the regular season(once burn bans are in place no firewood will be for sale).

Please bring your own Clean Trip Kit or request to the reservations or Host to purchase one.
Clean Trip Kits will include a Table covering for Picnic tables, wipes, hand sanitizer, gloves and toilet paper.
Please practice safe distancing, (6 feet/2 meters) for your own safety and that of other campers.
Please respect boundaries in the campsite, and at the beach.

Site Description:
An open grassy site along a beautiful pebble beach on the southwest facing side of Texada Island.
This site offers camping for a wide range of vehicles, including smaller vehicles such as truck and camper units, or larger RV's. There are 22 campsites, including two group sites with large log shelters to accommodate larger gatherings.
Campsites are available in forested areas as well as overlooking the beach.
Campsites are available for reservation and first come. The site is often full during several festivals on the island over the summer thus reservations are recommended. This is a CASH ONLY site and has on-site supervision.

B O B ' S L A K E
Site Description:
A small lake in the Alpine of Texada Island.
This site offers camping for smaller vehicles such as truck and camper units. There are 7 campsites, 2 shaded sites on the North side of the lake and 5 sites on the Sunny South side of the lake where the one outhouse is located.
Campsites are available in forested areas as well as lake side.
Campsites are available for first come only at this time. This campsite is popular during the summer, festivals, and hunting season, early arrivals are recommended.

Driving Directions:
From the Blubber Bay ferry terminal on Texada Island,
Take Right at Stop Sign (Gas Station) in Van Anada,
drive through Gillies Bay and turn left at the "T" section
onto Shelter Point Road.
Turn right onto Bell Road (T section and gravel starts now),
stay right at the Hydro Reactor Road and follow it to Bob's Lake.
Check each `Y`intersection you come to for signs to recreation site,
follow these to Bob`s Lake.


Shingle Beach Campsite Map:

The beach access road is for dropping off at the beach, you are asked to park above in the recreation site in designated parking, failure to do so, you may have your vehicle towed at your expense. Please keep this area clear and fair use for everyone.
Sites are $15.00 per night/vehicle, Double Sites are $30.00 per night/Group of 2 vehicles, Group Sites are $75.00 per night/group of 5 or more vehicles. Camping on Weekends is a mandatory 2 night stay, and 3 night stay on Long Weekends, regardless of how long you actually stay at the campsite.
Overnight non-camping vehicles (Kayakers, boaters etc leaving by vessel/foot from shingle beach are $5.00 per vehicle per night) All vehicles must have a permit.
We are not a parking lot, space is offered to campers first and is very limited, contacting the host at the email below is highly recommended so that you are not disappointed upon arrival. Non-Permit Vehicle will be Towed at Owners Expense.
Reservation fees are not refundable and are $15.00 for regular campsites, $30.00 for Double Sites and $75.00 for Group Sites. All reservations are strongly suggested for 2 night minimums or more, observing weekend and long weekend rules.
